Eid.

Eid was a little quiet for me. However, it was a nice quiet. I and Ibrehim went to the musjid for Eid prayer this morning. Then I got busy applying for my passport. I sent Abdulazziz a little bit of money as an Eid gift.
Talked with a few friends on facebook to give my Eid blessings.
Took Somayah some money from her Dad and from me. Gave her an Eid basket full of goodies.
Then I slept this afternoon.
Quiet but productive.

2 year old killed by its own government.
http://www.stopfundamentalism.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1143:killing-continue-in-syria-2-year-old-girl-dies-in-portal-city&catid=75:arab-spring&Itemid=95
I have been talking to a friend in Syria the last little bit and after reading this story and hearing about it on CNN I have come to a decision.
This young man in Syria wants to come to USA.
And I can understand that.
However, USA cannot go and fight all the fights the muslims countries are facing right now.
It seems when one fight is over another country is up and running. And when it comes to little children dying in the streets by its own government then someone has to do something. And that someone is the people living in Syria right now.
I understand wanting to leave. But, to stay and fight this and throw out that government and make things right for the country is the best thing any young man can do.
Sure he can't do it alone. But, if all of them rolled up their sleeves and decided to put an end to this with justice and fairness they would have Allah and his help.
So those who say they cannot do it alone do not have the help of their Allah and need to make it right with him first. Then stand up and with courage . Fight. Fight. Fight. For the right of the children.

One ingredient ice cream.
I was searching the web for diet foods one day and came across this recipe. I decided to give it a try. And I think it was delicious. So nutritious for the children. I took a couple bunch of frozen bananas to work with my little ninja blender one night and we made this at work for lunch desert. The mothers there enjoyed it. It is a healthy alternative to Ice cream.
What you need is some quite ripe bananas. Because a ripe banana is more sweet.
I peel the banana and cut them into small pieces. Put two to a small sandwich baggie for one good bowl of desert. Then freeze them until they are completely frozen. I usually put them in the night before I want the dessert. However, a couple hours will probably do the trick.
Then put them in a blender. I use my ninja blender. I am sure any blender that whips will work.
At first the banana will crumble into what looks like crumbled bread. You have to open the blender and push this down so it can be blended more. Just keep pushing down the banana and blend until it blends into a nice creamy ice cream. Delicious.
It takes about 2 or 3 minutes of constant blending.
So in a nutshell:
• Peel your bananas.
• Cut them into small pieces.
• Freeze for just 1-2 hours at least in a baggie. Make sure it is frozen.
• Blend, blend, blend - scraping down the bowl when they stick.
• Enjoy this one ingredient ice cream that is so much more healthy then commercial ice cream.
The only fruit you should blend with this is the banana. Because the banana is the only fruit I have found that will whip into ice cream.
You can however, after you have whipped the banana swirl chocolate, peanut butter or whatever flavor you enjoy into the banana.

An explanation of Ramadan.
Ramadan will last a whole month. It goes by the moon. The new moon brings Ramadan and the new moon takes it out.
So as long as it is Ramadan the Muslim "Must" fast.
The Islamic fast is no food, no water, no nothing by mouth and no sex as long as it is daylight.
When the sun goes down we break our fast.
At dusk or as we call it mughrib we break the fast with water or traditional dates. Then we pray the dusk prayer. Muslims pray 5x's a day. Then we eat the meal that breaks the fast.
During Ramadan there are extra prayers. So from( right now at this time of year) about 10pm until 12 am we pray and read Quran.
Ramadan is the time of worship.
Quran verses about fasting:
2:183 O you who believe, fasting has been decreed for you as it was decreed for those before you, perhaps you may be righteous.
2:184 A few number of days; however, if any of you is ill or traveling, then the same number from different days; and as for those who can do so but with difficulty, they may redeem by feeding the needy. And whoever does good voluntarily, then it is better for him. And if you fast it is better for you if only you knew.
2:185 A month of aspiration, in which the Quran was revealed; as a guide to the people and clarities from the guidance and the Criterion. Therefore, whoever of you witnesses the month, then let him fast therein. And whoever is ill or traveling, then the same number from different days. God wants to bring you ease and not to bring you hardship; and so that you may complete the count, and glorify God for what He has guided you, that you may be thankful.
2:187 It has been made lawful for you during the night of fasting to approach your women sexually. They are a garment for you and you are a garment for them. God knows that you used to betray your souls so He has accepted your repentance, and forgiven you; now you may approach them and seek what God has written for you. And you may eat and drink until the white thread is distinct from the black thread of dawn; then you shall complete the fast until night; and do not approach them while you are devoted in the temples. These are the boundaries of God, so do not transgress them. It is thus that God clarifies His revelations to the people who they may be righteous.
33:35 Surely, the submitting males, and the submitting females, the believing males, and the believing females, the dutiful males, and the dutiful females, the truthful males, and the truthful females, the patient males, and the patient females, the humble males, and the humble females, the charitable males, and the charitable females, the fasting males, and the fasting females, the males who keep covered their private parts, and the females who similarly keep covered, and the males who commemorate God frequently, and the commemorating females; God has prepared for them a forgiveness and a great recompense

Musjid.
Well, I went to the musjid last night to break fast there and to do the prayers during Ramadan. I have not been to the musjid for over 20 years. Seriously.

This is the third day of Ramadan as well as my birthday. I wondered if I should eat some cake or something this iftar and I have decided that a frozen banana whipped into an ice cream treat will be my birthday dinner cake this year.
I am in need of losing a few more pounds. So will power has blown into full force with a bit of ingenious ways of having a low fat low calorie treat.
Happy Birthday to me.

Stuck in the Middle.
I am Americanmuslimah. I have been a muslimah now for over 30 years.
I have blogged and quit several times. Again I want to try.
I was ask by a certain group of Muslimah's once about 20 years ago to join their group of women.
I refused.
Before you judge allow me to explain.
They were a group that dressed in burqa (complete body covering + face covering) I also dressed at the time in this fashion. But, they stayed to themselves and no one was allowed in that did not follow the rules.
They had an air as if they were the best of the best and everyone else was to be avoided.
I disagreed with this attitude.
So I refused to join them. I did visit them from time to time. And they did me.
But, they treated me as if I was not one of the best.
Even going so far as to tell my husband I was a trouble maker.
To this day I am still wondering what I did that made any trouble for them.
I am American born and raised. This is a sinful country. This country does not follow God.
I wonder sometimes why Allah had me born here.
My family and those around me wonder how I can leave this lovely life of beauty and easiness for a life of covering and hardship. But, mostly they say that I should stick to the modern religion of Christianity and leave the old fashion that comes from following such an old fashioned way of life from a people in the third world countries.
What can I say?
All religions orginate from these third world countries is my understanding.
So here is again a bit of an understanding of where the books of God are coming from.
All three major books are from God. The Torah. The Bible. The Quran.
The Torah and the Bible have been changed by people who did not agree with God.
God took that right to change the books when he sent the Quran.
None of the books are originally in English.
If I was born during the days of people leaving because they did not want to follow the certain religion I am sure I would have preferred to stay with Islam.
I am sorry you think because I do not believe that Jesus is God's son/God that I well burn in hell. I do not believe that is true.
And as for joining a group of muslimah that snob others, I disagree, so I will not do that.
I study Quran.
O you who believe; believe in God and His messenger, and the Book
which was sent down to His messenger, and the Book which was sent before. And whoever rejects God, and His angels, and His Books, and His messengers, and the Last Day; then he has strayed a far straying.

Weather

It stormed here again in Tennessee and the electric was out for most of the night. Finally I gave up and took a 3am trip to wal-mart. Mostly because the people here tell me I need to stay home and not go out scaring people and causing trouble in my dress costume. I followed my Quran by not obeying this stupidity.
I found out a gas station sign hit a transformer in one area causing the power outage. Trees were on top of some cars and up rooted in many yards.
I never knew the weather was that bad. I was tucked safely in my little apartment aware that it was raining and a little windy. But, certainly did not see anything fierce.
Oh well, on another note my daughter told me she would never believe in my religion. After all the pain and suffering because of this new knowledge she dared to share I decided my only recourse is prayer.
I have made a few changes in my way of life. I would rather be all alone then be surrounded by those who ridicule my religion even if they are my immediate family.
So unless it is a must. I will keep away.
I know the truth and I fear my God would never forgive me if I left my religion. I know they will never understand this.
well, anyway, by the time I got home from wal-mart the power was back on. Nice.

My Graphics

Just another Graphic I enjoyed putting together.
Storms

Because I work nights when I am off work I sit up all night long. Storms started around 1:30 am or 2 am last night. Nothing unusual about that. That Allah is doing his best to get people to respond to him is a cinch to those of understanding. With all the "scientific weather" raging across the world lately, it came no surprise to me when I heard the weather man state a tornado or hail usually backtracks to the same areas they were in the past. WOW! Imagine that! When Allah receives no response he comes back to try again. Glory to Allah.
All you need do people is seek the help of your maker. Ask his forgiveness. And live to his teachings. It is simple. That is what he wants. He wants all the people to respond. He wants to punish no one. But, if you do not respond he will punish.
Ok so, after that is said here is a few graphics I put together last night. I am not really good at this. But, in my old age. I am alone. I need to do something. And though I am not good at it. I enjoy it.
And hold the contact prayer, and contribute towards purification, and kneel with those who kneel. Quran 2:43
And We have appointed to Abraham the location of the House: Do not set up anyone with Me, and purify My House for those who visit, and those who are standing, and the kneeling, the prostrating. Quran 22:26
I like Her.
http://americabornmuslimah.blogspot.com/
I found it. The blog I started last year- then forgot about- then could not find -so I started another one. I don't need two. So now I have to figure out what to do about this.
Anyway. I have decided I like Hilary Clinton.
I don't say that about many Christian women.
But, first she is a woman who stays with her husband though he cheated.
And I just heard her say that the fight Saudia women have about driving is their own fight.
Now I see she minds her own business.
Yeap! I like her.

Two Points of Interest This Week.

1. I loved listening to Obama telling the people we need to tax those who make more money instead of taking money from the elderly and children. I mean really - that is a no brainer. If God is not the head of the country then for sure satan is. And taking money from the elderly and children and not taxing those who make loads of money sure does sound like a satanic act to me. Looks to me like Obama does have some goodness in his heart!
2. They say at work that drinking coffee is something that God might not like. I do not think coffee is a sin. However, I do think this: If by not drinking this stuff called coffee and tea and anything else like say for instance pop can get it across to the people that to obey God has many advantages then I will give it all up. Every single drop. In fact, I am taking a closer look at my diet. A much closer look. Maybe I can help someone find God and maybe he will forgive some of my sins and maybe he will hear some of my prayers. Just maybe. I am going to give it a try.
Hijab, Wind Storms, and Graphics
They do not have much in common. But, it is how my day went.
It would not seen fitting if I did not at least admit for the past 4 or 5 years I have been in disguise. That is. I did not wear hijab.
You might find a better reading about it here
Now that that period of my life is over I can easily say to those who wish to "teach us" muslims what we are missing. I do know what I am missing. And I prefer to live as muslimah. With hijab.
I am so glad that I was not living in Arizona this past week to witness that dust storm. Did you see that?
You can read a bit about it here
And I put some more islamic graphics up. HERE

Reading Quran
I have this way I read Quran. I number a page out of my small calendar that I carry 1 through 114.
I never read from front to back. Don't ask me why. I just read one chapter then another somewhere else in the book.
When I have finished a chapter I cross it off of the number 1-114 page.
This way I am assured that I have read the entire Quran from beginning to end in the year.
It is almost Ramadan this year. I have exactly 25 chapters left to read.
Inshallah, I will finish them during Ramadan. If not, that is ok. I just want to finish each chapter then start again.

The Doctor.
I already know what is going to happen.
Well, at least I should say it is most probable. However, I could die in my sleep.
Maybe I should explain.
I do not go to the doctor for evey little whim. In fact, I hardly ever go.
It is because I have such a strong belief in my God I do not really see the need.
I would go if my little pains and complains did not get better. But, till now they always have,
I just pray to my God.
I believe that God is in control of everything. Even little pains. He can make us well or take our life.
I know one day he is going to take my life. I know for sure.
So what is going to happen?
Well, when I finally am forced to the doctor. If that does happen. They will say if only I would have been careful and seen the doctor earlier I would be ok.
I do not believe that.
Sure, we should take care and eat healthy. Exercise. But, when push comes to shove. We die.
So instead of putting my trust in the doctor. I am putting it in God.
And when he is ready to take me I hope inshallah he takes me in my sleep. Peacefully. Without my ever having to rush to the doctor.
We will just have to wait and see.

Lightning Strikes Again.
http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/07/07/lightning-strikes-tree-near-caylee-anthony-memorial-site/
Lightning strikes the tree close to Caylee Anthony memorial site.
To some it will be simply an act of mother nature. But, to those of us who know that there is only one in charge of what is happening in this world know that God has made his presence known.
He does know what happened to this little girl. And if there is anyone to blame he will see to it that they are punished.
